A little French makeover.

What happens when two passionate young bakers take over a 30-year-old “kim zua” shop? A magnifique transformation, of course!

Hui Yi and her baking partner have always wanted their very own café space. When they asked for help with the conceptualisation, our inner connoisseur jumped for joy.

The duo’s baking journey began at the iconic French culinary school Le Cordon Bleu. Going back to their roots, we decided to inject a little French flair into the space.

First and foremost, we went with black-and-white floor tiles – a signature style of many classic French cafés. Vintage pendant lights were also installed to accentuate the lovely French theme.

Next, rustic and natural wood finishes were chosen for our laminates. This would help give Bloomsbury Bakers a warm, cosy and welcoming feel. Menus would be written onto a chalkboard, a practice befitting of our café ambience.

All of the above means little, however, without a highly practical and well-equipped back-end kitchen to support the entire business. After all, this is where the magic truly happens.

There you have it, Bloomsbury Bakers’ new home. Dare we say:

It’s petit, but parfait!
